Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) had received broad attention in the past decades due to its dramatic physical and chemical properties. As synthesis determined the future, in this talk, I will focus on the structure controlled growth of horizontal carbon nanotubes array using designed catalysts. These new strategy will fast the application of SWNTs in nano-electronic devices. 

張 錦，中國科學(xué)院院士、北京大學(xué)博雅講席教授、國家杰出青年基金獲得者、教育部長江學(xué)者特聘教授、英國皇家化學(xué)學(xué)會會士、中組部“萬人計劃”創(chuàng)新領(lǐng)軍人才入選者、科技部重點研發(fā)計劃項目負(fù)責(zé)人。長期致力于碳納米管等納米碳材料的生長機(jī)理、表征技術(shù)和制備方法研究，在Nature 和Nat. Mater.等刊物發(fā)表論文300余篇，獲授權(quán)專利30余項。榮獲國家自然科學(xué)獎二等獎（兩項）、全國優(yōu)秀博士學(xué)位論文指導(dǎo)教師、中國化學(xué)會青年化學(xué)獎、教育部“新世紀(jì)優(yōu)秀人才資助計劃”和北京大學(xué)“十佳”導(dǎo)師等獎勵?，F(xiàn)任北京石墨烯研究院副院長和國家納米科學(xué)中心副主任（兼）。
